Spatial AI research and talent with IIT Tirupati
Under the agreement with IITTNiF, Deepspatial and the IIT Tirupati innovation hub will collaborate on geospatial technologies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), positioning systems and Spatial AI. The partnership covers joint research and development, talent development, technology commercialisation, startup incubation and industry-academia engagement.
A key initiative is Xploor, Deepspatial’s global GeoAI mentorship programme, which will be launched through the SPIN Labs network. The programme aims to give students and emerging professionals practical exposure to GeoAI, artificial intelligence and data science by connecting them with real-world location-intelligence challenges.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Roshan K. Srivastav, Project Director, Technology Innovation Hub, IITTNiF, and Dr. Rahul Kushwah. Tulika Saha, Senior Executive Assistant, IITTNiF, and Saurabh Tyagi, Chief Marketing Officer, Deepspatial, were also present.

Dr. Roshan K. Srivastav said:
“Our collaboration with Deepspatial marks an important step towards connecting research, innovation and industry to develop impactful geospatial and Spatial AI solutions. Through this partnership, we aim to strengthen India-Canada cooperation in emerging technologies, accelerate technology development and commercialisation, and create new opportunities for startups, researchers and young innovators. At IIT Tirupati’s Technology Innovation Hub (IITTNiF), our focus is on translating research into real-world capabilities, and we look forward to building meaningful outcomes through this collaboration.” Bringing credible journalism into the classroom
Under the second agreement, OneIndia will provide daily news and current-affairs content to edskExpress, Deepspatial’s student learning and media-literacy platform. The aim is to help students engage with real-world events and build habits of informed reading, critical thinking and media literacy.
The edskExpress model pairs access to credible news with opportunities for students to question information, deepen their understanding of current affairs and report stories from their own communities.
The agreement was signed by Ravanan N., Chief Executive Officer of OneIndia, and Dr. Rahul Kushwah. James PJ, Senior Director – Content Strategy and Monetization, OneIndia, and Saurabh Tyagi were also present.
Ravanan N. said:
“Credible news shouldn’t stop at the newsroom. It should reach the classroom. We at OneIndia think about content for a living, and what we keep coming back to is this: positive news isn’t soft news. For a young reader, seeing what is working, and who is making it work, is what makes change feel possible. That’s the idea behind our work with edskExpress. Students read credible journalism, question it, and report their own stories. Journalism for impact starts early.”
